EchoLoom®
3D ACOUSTIC WALL IN ECHOBOARD®
Handwoven acoustics as an architectural wall element
EchoLoom® is a handwoven 3D acoustic wall made from EchoBoard® 12mm. It reduces reverberation, improves speech clarity and integrates room acoustics directly into the architecture. The three-dimensional structure combines effective sound absorption with a precise architectural expression.
Instead of hiding acoustics, EchoLoom® makes it visible. Wall surfaces become functional design elements, allowing acoustic performance and spatial design to work together.
What a 3D acoustic wall changes in a room
Modern interiors often consist of acoustically hard surfaces such as concrete, glass and smooth furniture.
These materials reflect speech almost completely. Conversations overlap, the room feels restless and concentration becomes difficult – even when the space appears visually calm.
A 3D acoustic wall addresses these lateral wall reflections directly.
It stabilizes the acoustic environment and improves speech intelligibility between people.
ECHOLOOM®:
• reduces perceived reverberation
• supports clear communication
• increases acoustic comfort within the space
Acoustics therefore becomes part of the architecture rather than an added technical measure.
DESIGN & VARIANTS
Three-dimensional woven patterns as an architectural statement
1200x2650mm
ECHOLoom® GRADIENT
DIFFERENTIATED AND DEPTH-ORIENTED
Varying spacing within the structure creates a gradual sense of depth. The surface appears more three-dimensional and its perception changes with the viewer’s distance.
1200x2650mm
ECHOLoom® SPINE
PRECISE AND CALM
Regular vertical lines create a clear linear wall surface. The pattern is architecturally restrained and works particularly well in structured spatial concepts.
1200x2650mm
ECHOLoom® WAVE
RHYTHMIC AND DYNAMIC
The lines shift gently across the surface. Light and shadow react more strongly, so the wall appears more animated depending on the viewing angle.
ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE
Targeted sound absorption and controlled reflection
EchoLoom® combines two acoustic principles at the same time.
The porous PET material of EchoBoard® absorbs sound energy and shortens reverberation within the room.
The three-dimensional structure additionally influences the direction of sound reflections and distributes them more evenly.
• reduced disruptive reflections
• clearer speech transmission
• balanced room acoustics
Unlike purely absorbent surfaces, the space does not become acoustically “dead”. Instead, a calm and natural sound environment is created.
The result: clear communication and quieter rooms – without visible technology.
INSTALLATION & FLEXIBILITY
Fast installation with a tool-free mounting system
EchoLoom® is installed using the proven EchoBaffle® WALL tool-free plug-in system.
• lightweight modules
• quick snap-in installation
• no heavy equipment required
• panels can be removed or replaced at any time
EchoLoom® can be considered early in the planning process and enables an acoustic solution without visible technical components.
APPLICATIONS
Versatile use and modular combination
• offices and meeting rooms
• hospitality and public spaces
• reception and communication areas
• high-quality residential interiors
Thanks to its modular structure, multiple panels can be combined into continuous wall surfaces or expanded over time.
Colours and layout can be configured to suit specific project requirements.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT 3D ACOUSTIC WALLS
Targeted sound absorption and improved speech clarity
Does a 3D acoustic wall improve speech intelligibility?
Yes. By reducing sound reflections and reverberation, speech becomes clearer and conversations overlap less. Voices remain easier to understand, even when several people are speaking in the same space.
Where should a 3D acoustic wall be positioned?
It is most effective on large, acoustically hard wall surfaces. Placement opposite meeting areas, workstations or communication zones is particularly beneficial, as this is where early reflections can interfere with conversations.
What is the difference between a 3D acoustic wall and flat acoustic panels?
Flat acoustic panels primarily absorb sound perpendicular to their surface. A 3D acoustic wall also absorbs sound, but its spatial structure additionally redirects reflections. This distributes sound energy more evenly within the room and creates a more balanced acoustic perception.
When should an acoustic wall be used instead of an acoustic ceiling?
Acoustic ceilings mainly reduce the overall noise level in a room.
An acoustic wall acts more directly on lateral speech reflections between people. In meeting rooms, open-plan offices and communication areas this can noticeably improve speech clarity. In many cases, combining both systems provides the most effective acoustic result.
How large should a 3D acoustic wall be?
The effective surface area is more important than the material thickness. Larger continuous wall areas close to communication or working zones produce a clearer acoustic effect. Multiple panels are often combined to form one continuous surface.
Is a 3D acoustic wall suitable for open-plan offices?
Yes. Open-plan workplaces create many lateral speech reflections between desks. An acoustic wall reduces these reflections and can improve both concentration and conversation quality.
Is a 3D acoustic wall sustainable?
EchoLoom® is based on EchoBoard®, a recyclable PET material with a high recycled content. The durable construction and replaceable panels support long service life and reduce material consumption during future adaptations.
Does an acoustic wall also work in small rooms?
Yes. Smaller rooms with hard surfaces often have clearly noticeable reverberation. Even limited acoustic wall areas can significantly improve perceived calmness and speech clarity.
