The Peng Basel dumpling restaurant & bar is a hybrid creature. The space is split in half by a corridor with dining on the left rendered in white and bar to the right in black. This it creates two distinct atmospheres with automated sliding doors serving as a gate between one and the other world.
Stern Zürn Architects have upgraded the former restaurant space with simple plaster walls and a concrete floor. To upgrade the acoustics in the same spirit new ceiling elements made of EchoBoardil® were added.
