In the newly designed BMW MINI Showroom in Stuttgart, architecture, brand, and atmosphere merge into a unique spatial experience. At its center is a bespoke acoustic ceiling by ECHOJAZZ – an iconic grid element that unites acoustics and light in perfect balance.

From Vision to a Custom Acoustic Ceiling

Together with Schwarz Architekten and Lindner SE, ECHOJAZZ developed a free-standing grid ceiling (7.5 × 6.3 m, height 25 cm) that became much more than a functional solution. It structures the generous showroom, defines an intimate center, and sets a clear architectural statement.

Project requirements for the acoustic ceiling included:
– Acoustics – reduce reverberation and ensure clarity of speech
– Design – a distinctive grid, seamlessly integrated into the interior architecture
– Weight – lightweight construction for free-standing installation
– Daylight – openings for existing skylights
– Installation – simple assembly despite the large scale

Technical Implementation of the Acoustic Ceiling

ECHOJAZZ engineered a custom acoustic construction based on the EchoBaffle^®, combined with elements of the EchoGrid^®. The ceiling was produced in 185 CROCODILE – a calm, earthy green that blends naturally with the interior concept while adding depth and character.

Made from 96 custom components, the grid is assembled through a refined plug-in system without screws. The result is a seamless 50 m² acoustic surface– visually continuous, acoustically effective, and quick to install on site.

The bespoke ceiling is more than an acoustic solution – it is architecture in its own right. A floating grid that carries light, instills calm, and transforms the MINI Showroom Stuttgart into an iconic space of acoustic and design excellence.
